Introduction:
The economic importance of that area can be seen by the havelis which was built by different merchants of this region.shekhawati is a semi desert region of Rajasthan and it is situated between Delhi-Bikaner-Jaipur. Shekhawati is a region and not just a town or fort. Shekhawati means the garden of Shekha.Rao Shekha was the ruler of the Shekhawati so after his name the place got the name Shekhawati.Shekhawati's magnificent havelis display a unique architectural style that evolved around the courtyards to ensure safety and privacy of the women folk and protection from the heat of the harsh and long summers. The colourful paintings are also famous of this Haveli.

History:
In the 16th-17th centuries, Rajasthan stood divided into five large and several smaller kingdoms. The five were Amber, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur . Shekhawati are the most prominent of the all the Kachawahas. They are offsprings of the great Kachawaha Rajput warrior Rao Shekha. He ruled over the region called 'Shekhawati'. Shekhawati has given maximum number of soldiers to the country.
